DBX 286s Mic Preamp/Compressor

The dbx® 286s is a full featured Channel Strip Processor that delivers a studio quality microphone/instrument preamplifier and four processors that can be used independently or in any combination. Why mic up vocals and instruments through a noisy, blurry mixer? The sonically pristine dbx 286s Mic Preamp has all the features you need, including wide-ranging input gain control, switchable +48V phantom power, and an 80Hz high-pass filter to remove low frequency hum, rumble or wind. Use the patented dbx OverEasy® compressor to transparently smooth out uneven acoustic tracks or deliver that classic "in your face" vocal performance that only a dbx compressor can. Eliminate vocal sibilance and high frequency distortion from instruments such as cymbals with the frequency tunable De-Esser. Fine-tune the Enhancer HF Detail control to add sparkle and crispness to your tracks and make adjustments to the LF Detail control to add fullness and depth to vocals and bass instruments while cleaning up the muddy low midrange frequencies. And, the separate threshold and ratio controls on the Expander/Gate allow you to subtly reduce headphone leakage or radically gate noisy guitar amps.

The dbx 286s offers a full compliment of metering and status LEDs to visually guide you to achieving the right sound. The floating balanced XLR Mic Input accepts balanced or unbalanced inputs to easily connect to professional and home studio microphones. The additional 1/4" TRS Line Input can accept balanced/unbalanced signals to process live electronic instruments or pre-recorded tracks at mixdown. Use the Insert jack to interface between the Mic Preamp and the signal processing sections to "loop out" to external processors (such as EQ or delay unit) or to mix the Mic Preamp's signal out to an external destination.

The cost and hassle of patching together multiple processors for use on one track can be frustrating. The dbx 286s provides you with all the mic processing you need in one box, with the shortest, cleanest signal path to keep your music sounding its best!

XTA DP426 2 In 6 Out Matrixing Audio Processor

£2,438.00

Using the latest digital signal processing and high sample rates would be wasted if attention is not paid to capturing the signal as faithfully as possible, and reproducing it accurately. The range uses high-performance 24-bit converters on the inputs and outputs, running at 96kHz to give a bandwidth of over 30kHz and a dynamic range in excess of 116dB.

With two or four fully balanced inputs, and up to eight fully balanced outputs, it also offers greatly increased flexibility. Now it’s possible to realise (for example) four two-way monitor systems, or your favourite DP226 configuration with an additional stereo processing channel, all in a single 1U unit.

With multiple inputs and outputs, the 4 Series are able to offer much more than a simple crossover system. To make configuration as simple as possible, a selection of templates are available to set the system up, taking care of routing and selecting useful crossover points.

However all of this is easily adjustable, including the routing. Any output may be fed from any input, or combination of inputs, forming a completely flexible matrix.

The 4 Series processing platform has been designed to operate at a native sampling rate of 96kHz, and also be powerful enough to cope with the additional inputs and outputs. Available on each input channel is a 28 band graphic equaliser, in addition to 8 bands of fully parametric equalisation. Each output path features up to 9 parametric sections, in addition to the crossover filters which themselves now offer slopes from 6dB/Octave up to 48dB/Octave.

All parametric sections can be reconfigured to many alternate filter behaviours, including the familiar high and low shelves and notch filters, but along with bandpass, elliptic and variable ‘Q’ shapes, and phase adjustment, in 2 degree steps. Each output also features a combination of limiters – a limiter which is designed to protect individual drivers from over-excursion/over-driving, and an additional look-ahead “D-Max” limiter for added safety.

Add to this sub-millimetre accuracy when introducing time alignment with completely flexible ganging of all channels, and it can be seen that a member of the 4 Series will fit the bill in any system configuration.

XTA DC 1048 Integrated Audio Management

Normally Ships within 2-3 days

£2,150.00
Price incl. VAT, Free Delivery Over £150

Offering full matrix mixing and a pallette of EQ functions to satisfy even the most demanding application, the DC1048 doesn’t compromise your processing, whilst offering a range of installation-friendly features.

24-bit high end converters coupled with a 96k sample rate, ensure a bandwidth in excess of 30kHz and a dynamic range of over 112dB.

XTA’s world class limiters, offer unrivalled transparency, give peace of mind when configuring a system to “set and forget”. Systems that are often driven hard “into the red” and with heavy limiting, more often than not, sound harsh and tiring. Our limitiers are renowned for their smooth controlled behaviour, even when working hard.

Quick access keys make setting up the remote facilities a breeze, with simple easy to remember menus. Preset recalls may also be actioned from the front panel.

The real time clock and calendar in each unit allows for the set-up of fully automated preset recalls, so your system can seamlessly adapt in the background with no need for user intervention.

Display and guide LEDs fade up when the unit is locally accessed, with the display fading up independently when remotely accessed.

With a GPIO interface built in, along with the USB easy access front panel connector, and RS485 networking, it’s easy to get your system configured and then left secure with only remote access via the touch panels (or any other system you choose).

As with all xta products, excellent sound quality is assured through the heritage of the 4 Series processing platform, and the use of high resolution, high sample rate audio converters.

Remote touch sensitive wall panels allow for quick recall of up to four presets (with the facility to program an offset for different banks). These panels can be parallelled up around a venue so any one will trigger a system-wide recall, with messages relaying via RS485. An additional control line allows for an override memory to work with emergency evacuation systems.
